Who we are

As part of CIVIC SQUARE and Centric Lab’s Ecological Health Enquiry, we are a diverse group of thinkers and do-ers, interested in understanding and addressing the impact of the built environment on lives.

We begin from a place of care, to ourselves, our communities and our planet. We draw from our trained backgrounds as Engineer, Designer and Doctor towards collective knowledge and consider lived experience as critical.

Shared Ground - London is an expression of our desire to find commonalities and make connections between intersecting issues related to place/space.

Why we care

Our interest in this area stems from personal and professional observations of London’s diverse communities. Our initial line of enquiry stemmed from early conversations around our experiences of transient communities - how those who have recently moved or passing by, might create a shared sense of belonging and connection that would ultimately have a wider impact on societal health/well-being. In today's complex world, with issues like climate change, biodiversity loss exacerbating such problems - could we begin to find a sense of shared purpose and build a social lever? What could this look like, how would it be integrated and maintained over a longer timeframe? How would we measure it’s success?
